I've been using a Cobalt Flux for over 20 years, and I had been using the PS2 control box that came with it. While I was able to use it with my PC for Stepmania via a cheap PS2-to-USB adapter, it was never the most elegant solution.
I finally got frustrated enough by latency issues that I decided to get this. It feels like a whole new experience! I'm so happy that it just works now without having to always calibrate the pad to make it work right. Highly recommended! It shipped really quick, too!
I was initially sent the wrong cable but it was fixed very quickly, and without question.
The new cable worked right away, was able to just plug it in and set the controls without issue.
I do have 2 small issues (that dont affect the end function):
1. The pin connector comes with locking screws, and so does my pad.
2. The lights on my pad don't work with this cable.
These are minor enough yo not affect the 5 star rating because I have a working dance pad again.
DDRPAD.com has a guide to ensure you pick the correct control box, and that guide helped me pick this one. It worked like a charm. Plugged in to my pc, mapped the arrows in stepmania, and it all worked stunningly. It came with some free stickers as well. My experience with DDRPAD and this product have been stellar. I am so happy! I can hook my PC up to the big tv and the entire family can play now. Before, I had a soft mat and it stuck to our feet and shifted.
Works perfectly with my ddr energy pad on Windows 11.
Plug and play with my old Cobalt Flux pad, no lag. I also enjoyed the included stickers! Will be ordering another for my other pad!
This control box is plugged into my DDRGAME Energy metal pad. It was having an issue where the inputs would freeze and not register button pushes every 20 or so seconds. I moved the control box to a USB 2.0 port and moved all other USB components to a powered USB 3.0 hub connected to a USB 3.0 port. Issue seems solved! Now it works like a charm!
Bought one to replace a different 3rd party box i bought years ago that didn't work. Thought the problem was my pads. This box proved that wrong, so I bought a second. I'm so glad there's still a community supporting my 20+ year old pads.
