Hardware is awesome, it feels neat, problem is I cannot make it work with Pump it up game on Steam
Shipped smoothly and pre-assembled and it worked flawlessly out of the box!
Doesn’t work too well with my stepmania (might just be a skill issue) but it’s good with DDR on Wii and PS2.
I've had this pad for a while, and while it's fine, i've had a LOT of issues over that time. here's what's happened so far...
Due to issues that are, frankly, too complicated for this review, the pad does not work on my pc and there seems to be no option to properly fix this. it works on other computers, though. just mot mine. fml.
the pad often presses two or three inputs at once. this means that games with calorie counters don't work, because it waaay over calculates the burned calories. (except for ddrmax, which i guess counts calories different?)
because of the frequent multi-presses, if i'm stood on a note, it'll cause a miss when i hit the actual button. this seems to become more frequent the more i play in one session. no clue why THAT is :p
there is, also, the regular issues with soft pads, but i'm not gonna hold those against this specific one.
Overall, i still like the pad and i still have a decent chunk of fun, but it's also a real pain a lot of the time. and not being able to play on pc is really frustrating. I'd recommend it still, because some of these issues seem exclusive to me, but idk.
I've been using a Cobalt Flux for over 20 years, and I had been using the PS2 control box that came with it. While I was able to use it with my PC for Stepmania via a cheap PS2-to-USB adapter, it was never the most elegant solution.
I finally got frustrated enough by latency issues that I decided to get this. It feels like a whole new experience! I'm so happy that it just works now without having to always calibrate the pad to make it work right. Highly recommended! It shipped really quick, too!
Best pad I've used so far. Been playing 9- to 11-footers (itg scale) on it for over a year now with no issues.
Exactly as it says on the tin.
Used these in a travel pad and they work just fine!
I am very happy with my purchase. I have DDR Extreme K-cab pads and requested additional wires to compensate for length issues I had heard about. The ddrpad.com was gracious enough to provide additional wires, and I truly appreciate it. The physical install is pretty straightforward, and once I got the ADP tool working, the whole kit works great. For anyone trying to set this up, I had some issues with wires disconnecting, but it was easily fixed by Gorilla taping the connection points together. For those with metal acade pads, I'd recommend getting 8 of the long FSRs (having spares was a lifesaver). Mount them on top of your inner l-brackets, and secure them with additional Gorilla tape. I initially tried mounting them in the sensor channels under the arcade sensors and had a ton of issues. I cannot recommend this kit highly enough!
This arrived way sooner than I expected. It was definitely packaged with care. Took it out of the box and had zero problems. I spent the vast majority of the day just playing on the pad. I was hesitant to get the hard pad due to the price. However, this was definitely worth the purchase!!
I did have to roll up my rug and move it out of the way to have the pad on the wood instead. I found it rocked a bit while playing on my rug. Zero issues once it was on the wood. So very happy with this! Thank you!!!
Quick and arrived when it said it would. Though I do wish I could order some more of the ddr arrow stickers.
Pad is very well made, with good quality foam and other materials. Feels exceptionally sturdy, manufacturer is well known in the ddr scene.
Performance wise the pad works as expected, and does not move around too much when in use.
Competent pad, capable of high level play with support.
Fantastic product! This is my second pad that I've bought from this site, and I followed a tutorial to modify them so they are nice and sturdy. Even without the modification, the soft pads are very responsive and reliable. I recommend this site for anyone looking to play DDR at home!!
Additionally, the customer service is great. I accidentally entered the wrong shipping address and sent an email in a panic to get it corrected, and they responded to me within an hour. I was very relieved and impressed at the quick response!
This pad is really great. It feels good and doesn't move around much. My only complaint would be the slightly smaller size, but it didn't take too long to get used to it. All in all I don't think there is a better soft pad on the market.
Great bang for your buck, absolutely love them. Hope to afford some higher end pads later.
Excellent for a soft-pad, love the octopus of connectors so it will work well no matter the system. Seems pretty responsive and the cord length is perfect for a basic setup at home. Slides around a little on a wood floor, but that is easily solvable with a yoga or other foam mat.
Works great with Stepmania. But, wonky firmware requires workarounds on Linux. In particular this device's firmware has trouble being plugged in after a Linux machine boots and I had to write a udev rule to fix it:
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{product}=="SKY2020", ATTRS{idVendor}=="054c", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0268", RUN+="/bin/sh -c \"echo suspend > /sys/bus/usb/devices/%k/power/level; echo on > /sys/bus/usb/devices/%k/power/level; sleep 0.5\""
Also, it doesn't pass the feature reports since it lies and says it is a Sony Playstation 3 controller and needs to have the hid_sony kernel module blacklisted.
After that it works great!
I wasn't originally going to get one of these. In high school I used the basic Konami soft pad without any real issues but these days that style of pad seems to not be very reliable. Even the pads with foam inserts generally start to show issues for me after only about two months of daily use (about an hour a day). So, instead or wasting more money on those I decided to give this pad a shot and it is worth it. Over two months later, it performs the same as when I got it, which you'd probably expect if you're dropping several hundred dollars on something like this.
It's just slightly less sensitive than a soft pad but nothing I couldn't get used to. That said, the input is much more accurate and I no longer have ghost steps messing with my score. It is also modeled after the arcade so each arrow is slightly set lower than the center and corner panels. I didn't know how to feel about that at first since I play in socks but it's not a big deal and it does help me with step accuracy. One thing I didn't think about when I purchased this is that there are no start & back buttons on the pad itself, which was kind of annoying and meant I had to go to the keyboard between each track, so I got a cheap racing pedal array to set in front of it and that works just fine. One major positive is that it's heavy enough to basically stay in place in my carpeted floor whereas the soft pads would always shift around and need to be placed in front of the tv again after every song.
I'm mostly just happy that this thing works, hasn't shown issues yet like the expensive HDF soft pads, and seems to be serviceable with online tutorials if I run into problems later. So far, it's been great.
Overall, it's a bit pricey, but I do think it's one of the most deluxe soft pads out there in the market right now. I've tested it on a variety of rhythm games! Here's my video review on it: https://youtu.be/Zb9jmWLsAbc
Easy to install, bright, and look great inside the pads!
so much fun
Thank you for selling this item
Product related: I started my experience with a cheap soft pad for the wii and caught the bug. I decided to upgrade and commit to the LTEK. Price is worth the construction of the unit and cost of a pre-imported pad. Very happy with its sensitivity and durability. I should've sprung for the one with button selector on it, but no regrets.
Service relate: Mega fast delivery, was expecting a solid 7 days and it came within 3-4 days.
