Soft dance pad with foam insert for playing StepMania. Plug and play USB connection to any computer.

This is a thicker version of our StepMania USB Soft Pad. It has a 3/4" foam insert which gives the pad more stability and prevents it from wrinkling and moving around during play. This soft pad is great for beginner to intermediate level players.

All 9 panels on this pad are active, including the center button. This allows you to use it for all dance games including StepMania, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), and Pump It Up (PIU). The sensors are located under the arrows and do not fully cover the entire panel graphics.

Compatibility with PC and Mac using programs like StepMania, Project Outfox, Dance Dance Revolution PC, In The Groove, ITGmania, Dance Party and more. Visit our StepMania info page to download StepMania and get a free song pack that includes every single Dance Dance Revolution Song.

~If for any reason you are not happy with the pad you can get a full refund within 30 days~

Great softpad!

The foam was a little too easy to put together though. All the pieces were interconnectable, which makes for a boring puzzle.

But I'll forgive that since this is a pretty good pad for beginners. Literally plug and play, as its recognized as a generic gamepad/joystick input.

If you have issues with ghost inputs in Stepmania/Itgmania you can adjust the input debounce time to 10ms in settings.

Basically what I expected

Setup was pretty easy. It slides a little bit, but it doesn't scrunch up. Pads are responsive. USB adapter works but is very sensitive-- it helps to clip the cable to a nearby sturdy object so that the movement of the pad doesn't affect the connection.

Really solid re-entry point

In my youth I used to play DDR Semi-competitively when it was a huge deal to play songs on heavy/expert. That said those days are half a life ago and I am coming back to the game after many years and many pounds and I'm lucky to play songs on standard at this point. That said the price and performance of this pad are almost spot on. I am not experiencing any slipping and while I would personally like the foam to be a little more sturdy I also am fully aware that I cheaped out a little on that front. The only actual gripe I have is that the pad is completely flat. My old octane was only good for DDR specifically but the arrows were slightly raised so it was pretty easy to keep track of exactly where you are on the pad and when I first jumped back in with this pad I found myself missing the left and right arrow a portion of the time. I might upgrade the foam in the near future and i might add very thin squares of foam to give a little more indication where i am on the pad but if that works this pad would be perfect for the price.

good overall for starters

great for beginners. however, if you are able to do level 9-15 songs, i would get a more heavy duty one.

Works well so far

It's not bad, but if you are expecting anything as sturdy or firm as the thick foam pads we had in the early 2000s (like redoctane), you will be disappointed. thinking of buying thicker foam and working on it myself.
