First time buying a Foam Mat- very pleased!

This was our first time trying a foam insert mat after more than 20 years of just regular plastic mats that needed replacing all the time. I really had no idea what a difference it would make! It moves significantly less, helps cushion the joints more (getting old sucks), and we have been getting consistently better scores on songs than we did on plastic mats.
It was easy to put the foam panels together, and getting it inside the mat/zippering up just took a little patience but after that it was good to go.
I got the one with the adaptor to be able to it to plug into ps2 and it worked perfectly. What I didn’t realize but was pleasantly surprised by was that it also had additional adaptors for other game systems that I thought I would need to purchase separately! I did have to reach out for help on a few things like getting it to work with OG Xbox but the solution was as simple as booting up the game before plugging the mat in.
Highly recommend for anyone who is on the fence or just wants a step up from the plastic mats, it feels like it will last and likely pays for itself honestly with how easy it is to burn through the plastic mats. (Our Cat also loves to lay on it, so he approves as well)

You just need the partial

I thought LTek was sensitive enough but these helped tremendously especially for hitting the corner of the panels. Would recommend getting only the partial and putting them on the inside edge of each panel. The rest don’t seem necessary.

Worth it!

Getting back into DDR after ~25 years and took the plunge on this hard pad. Everything is great so far, received the item within 4 business days. I don't play anything past 10ish difficulty so sensitivity is fine as is. The pad is pretty heavy at around 40 pounds but doesn't move or slide. I put a workout mat under it to dampen the sound. The pad shows up as a USB joystick in Project Outfox so all that's needed is to map each of the four directions. The USB port on the pad is very well protected and the included 6' cable is long enough for my setup though they do sell a longer one. Overall a good hard pad if you have the available funds.

Works as expected, be gentle with the zipper

Works exactly like my old one that has long since dissolved. I’m glad I got the foam insert as well, it feels a little heartier while staying affordable. Had one minor issue which was that I broke the zipper trying to zip the pad around the foam insert. Luckily needle nose pliers came to the rescue and I opened the zipper pull up and then clamped it back down on the zipper track, but it would have been nice if it was a little more fortified

Great quality!

Great quality- easy to implement- everything I get from DDR pad is top notch!

Very good mat

Very good mat so far, my mother is en-route to getting enough exercise again. I have also enjoyed a few dances upon the mat.

Easy and convenient

Plug and play with normal pad wiring used with tube lights, and much better brightness! Complements the panel arrow color very nicely.

Superior led DDR replacement lights

The led replacement s for the original cold cathode tubes are awesome.
Very bright- gives the DDR a great dance floor refresh!

Love it!

I absolutely love this pad! I've been looking for a decent hard pad for a while as soft pads just aren't cutting it for me. I did a lot of shopping around and the L-TEK Core seems to be the best value for money. I bought the penny mod but haven't really felt the need to install it yet as the sensitivity is pretty good. I just had to make sure to calibrate it with my old PS2 (in the DDR game settings) to ensure the timing was correct. I've played for about 60h in the past couple of months and had friends over who are more on the heavier side and we've had no issue. I would say this is definitely worth the purchase.

Works on Intel core Macbook

I bought 2 of these impulsively and thought I could just plug and play on my 2019 macbook. I ended up downloading ITGMania and buying a powered USB hub and was able to map the pads to the game with no issue!

Works perfect with my slim, and fat PS2

Works perfect with my slim, and fat PS2. I have two of them so I can play doubles and work amazing with no lag.

Defective Pad but Great Customer Service

The soft pad I received was unfortunately defective but the stellar customer service team refunded my order and guided me to make a replacement purchase with the store credit I received for a similar but different mat. I am eager to try the new mat out! Definitely reach out to customer service if you have an issues with your orders.

A great pad for DDR & PIU!

This is the first dance pad I've had since a crinkly 8bit plug & play I bought in middle school, so all I can really say is it's definitely a step up!

After playing a bit of Pump It Up at the arcade I've been wanting to give playing at home a try, so I was really excited to find a mat with panels for both games. Some concerns from other users have stuck out, but here's how they've felt for me:
- It's been easy for me to get used to the smaller size.
- It worked immediately on my Steam Deck with no 3rd party software needed (just mapping the controls in Stepmania/Outfox).
- The diagonals for PIU are a bit smaller than they would be on a dedicated pad, so I occasionally miss a step or two.
- I use the pad on a hardwood floor and haven't had any issues with it slipping around.
- Since the panels are all on the same surface, I sometimes find myself drifting off the pad and have to look down to find where I am, which could be frustrating if you're trying to FC a chart.

I can play DDR comfortably at around level 7, and it feels good to finally have a way to learn crossovers and intermediate techniques. Plus it's been a great cardio exercise!

Shipped smoothly and pre-assembled and it worked

Shipped smoothly and pre-assembled and it worked flawlessly out of the box!

Doesn’t work too well with my stepmania (might just be a skill issue) but it’s good with DDR on Wii and PS2.

A lot of fun, a lot of trouble

I've had this pad for a while, and while it's fine, i've had a LOT of issues over that time. here's what's happened so far...

Due to issues that are, frankly, too complicated for this review, the pad does not work on my pc and there seems to be no option to properly fix this. it works on other computers, though. just mot mine. fml.

the pad often presses two or three inputs at once. this means that games with calorie counters don't work, because it waaay over calculates the burned calories. (except for ddrmax, which i guess counts calories different?)

because of the frequent multi-presses, if i'm stood on a note, it'll cause a miss when i hit the actual button. this seems to become more frequent the more i play in one session. no clue why THAT is :p

there is, also, the regular issues with soft pads, but i'm not gonna hold those against this specific one.

Overall, i still like the pad and i still have a decent chunk of fun, but it's also a real pain a lot of the time. and not being able to play on pc is really frustrating. I'd recommend it still, because some of these issues seem exclusive to me, but idk.

Wonderful upgrade!

I've been using a Cobalt Flux for over 20 years, and I had been using the PS2 control box that came with it. While I was able to use it with my PC for Stepmania via a cheap PS2-to-USB adapter, it was never the most elegant solution.

I finally got frustrated enough by latency issues that I decided to get this. It feels like a whole new experience! I'm so happy that it just works now without having to always calibrate the pad to make it work right. Highly recommended! It shipped really quick, too!
