This adapter lets you use PS1 and PS2 controllers on your PC. It can be used if you already have a PlayStation control box and want to connect you pad to PC.

This is not your average PlayStation to USB adapter. It features low latency (3ms) which is ideal of dance games. This adapter fixes the common "axis" issues with standard adapters, which prevents the pad from registering jumps or two arrow steps at the same time.

It also has multitap and memory card support. The multitap enables simultaneous use of up to 3 controllers. Memory cards connected to a multitap can also be read and written to, making it possible to backup, share or transfer your games to emulators.

Latency information:
  • Default setting: 6ms
  • Minimum settings: 3ms (single-player mode), 5ms (dual-player mode), 6ms (three-player mode)

There are two latency variables:

  • USB Latency: adapters are USB Full Speed devices configured to be polled at 1ms intervals (the maximum frequency) by the host PC. The latency introduced by USB is therefore fixed at 1ms.
  • Controller poll interval: That is, how often the adapter reads the controller status. This parameter is configurable using the adapter manager. The default is 5ms, but it can be lowered down to 2ms.

The total latency is therefore 1ms + [configured poll interval]. This results in a minimum total latency of 3ms, and of 6ms by default.
